Anyone traveling abroad for a short or longer period can make use of Travel Clinic Erasmus MC’s services. We provide tailored travel health advice and information on the necessary vaccinations. You can also contact us for anti-malaria drugs, travel supplies, and a COVID-19 test with certificate.
We are there for you throughout your travels. To ensure we can help, we work closely with Erasmus MC’s internists and infectious disease specialists.
In addition to our standard travel consultations, for instance, we have consultation for travelers with special health needs. These are carried out by our infectious disease specialist at the hospital. Travelers with a chronic condition or illness will receive individual advice on vaccines in combination with their condition / medication, and on measures that can be taken before, during and after their trip to minimize risks. After the consultation, you will usually receive the recommended vaccinations at the Travel Clinic on the same day.
If you develop symptoms during your trip, we recommend that you first contact your travel insurance company with any urgent questions. Medical questions will be passed on to the GP. For non-urgent questions, you can consult our website. If you cannot find an answer to your question here, you can send an email to the infectious disease specialist, who will try to answer your question within 48 hours.
If you return from your vacation with a fever, diarrhea, skin rash and/or a cough, or you develop symptoms shortly after your return, you should contact your GP as soon as possible. The symptoms could indicate an infectious disease. Your GP can assess whether further examinations are necessary and whether to refer you to our Tropenpolikliniek (outpatient clinic for tropical diseases). If you require immediate care, your GP will send you to Erasmus MC’s Emergency Department.
